The Map is too Big/Large…

Before purchasing any map(s) from us you should check the following:

  • Does the device support Garmin map files? Check our device Compatibility table, as not all Garmin devices support on-device mapping.
  • Do you have sufficient free space on the Garmin device or MicroSD card? Map sizes are shown on the relevant map page.

If you don’t have sufficient space on the Garmin devices internal storage, then you either have to remove one or more of the pre-installed maps (or remove some music, or other data from your Fenix/Edge device to free sufficient space), if possible.

If you don’t have sufficient space on your existing MicroSD card, you will need to purchase a larger card to use instead of the one you currently have. If you have a pre-loaded Garmin OS Map card, then you can’t move the maps from that card to a new one, as the maps are locked to the card you were supplied from Garmin.

If your Garmin device does not have a MicroSD card slot, such as on the Legend C or Hc, Vista C or Hc, Venture C or Hc, GPSMap60C or Cs, Edge 520, etc. then you will struggle to get any mapping (or part of a map) onto those devices as they have very limited internal storage. Our Automatic download maps are unlikely to be able to fit in the very limited internal storage space.

If you are not sure, please feel free to reach out to us to discuss the options and what solutions/advice we can offer.
