What does the HD in HD Topo mean?

What does the HD in HD Topo mean?

It means that the map uses our High Detail styling and comes with 10m (33ft) contours as standard.  This map is dynamic and the level of detail shown adjusts as you zoom in and out; it is not a fixed resolution map, so designations, such as 1:50, 1:25, 1:24 and 1:10 have no real meaning (as those are fixed resolutions, not dynamic ones)

This is the Highest Detail OSM map available and is specifically designed for hikers, mountain bikers, mountaineers, geocachers, ultra athletes, fell/hill runners, military personnel, greenlaners and any other off-road activity.
