Where do you recommend I buy a Garmin device from?
For those in the UK or Ireland:
For most Garmin devices, I highly recommend
GPSTraining as the best source for Garmin devices; not only for the devices themselves, but also for their excellent customer service
and allow returns (within 14 days, for physical devices). This is backed up by a full warranty and they even include a FREE Gold Support package (worth £145) with any GPS/Watch and FREE delivery for all orders over £25.
GPSTraining will even install our TT HD Topo/Topo Pro maps (upon request) on to the new device that you purchase from them (please ask them about this before purchasing a Garmin device from them, if interested).
An alternative is either Ordnance Survey or Cotswold Outdoors. Both offer good service and allow returns (within 14 days, minimum, for physical devices)
If you are specifically looking for dog or other animal tracking Garmin devices (and collars, etc.) I would highly recommend
Deer Tracking Services (run by Peter Cheeseman).
For other countries:
I would recommend an authorised Garmin reseller as your best option.

Will using these maps invalidate my warranty with Garmin?
No, the maps offered here are in exactly the same format as the Garmin "official" maps and all other third party maps based on data from OSM (including the Garmin's own TopoActive and related maps that use OSM data). This is no different than asking ...
