Why do I see the map listed twice on my Garmin device?

Why do I see the map listed twice on my Garmin device?

This only occurs on older Garmin devices that see the two parts of the map as separate maps; in this case BOTH need to be enabled as one is the Contours and the other is the Map data.

These are the models that I know will show the map listed twice in the Map Setup list:
  1. Edge 705 and 800
  2. Oregon 200, 300, 400, 450, 500 and 550
  3. Etrex Legend Cx and Hcx
  4. Etrex Vista Cx and Hcx
  5. Etrex Venture Cx and Hcx
  6. GPSMap60 Cx and Csx
All other newer models should only show the map list once.
