What is Download Protection?
Download Protection is available as an optional add-on at the time of purchase for any Automatic or Electronic download maps, for self install. It is not the same as a subscription; a subscription is very different to Download Protection. Download Protection does not give you access to updates of the maps, only a subscription does.
The Download Protection Service allows you to have a secure backup copy of your purchased map for up to one year after purchase.
This way you can always reinstall the map in case you lose your data or replace your device.
Download Protection is a common offering for software purchases (digital delivery products) and is entirely optional.
If you have need of this service (and have purchased it when purchasing your map from us), just contact us and we will arrange access to the backup copy on our servers.
If you didn't purchase this service, and don't have a subscription, then you will need to purchase the map again (as mentioned in the Terms and Conditions that you agreed to when purchasing from any of our sites), unless you kept a local or cloud backup copy (as you are advised to do on the Order Completed email you were sent).
